My love for creating little friends has become my passion and has inspired me to put together a little collection of adopted bears and new bears available for you to adopt. I am delighted you have come to visit, please stop by to meet my bears. About Me Cosily happy here in Scotland passing the time with my beautiful daughter and my music man, hubby Jon. My days are spent being a Mum to Ayla and most nights I am busy making little Buttercup & Curtzy Grace creations. I have been designing and creating bears for almost 15 years now and I love it just as much today as I did then although my style has changed a tad over the years, to begin with, Buttercup Bears was quite a traditional style, mostly larger bears, after a few years I ventured into miniature world and have been hooked ever since, I just love little bundles snuggling cosily in your hand. After Ayla was born I decided to design a few new patterns, and have a go at listing them on eBay, I am pleased to say they have been received well and I have made so many new friends both artist and collector, I feel very privileged to have come across such wonderful people and am equally as proud to know that my bears are all well loved, Thank you Talking of influences I must mention Jon who is owed a huge thanks for designing the site, you’re my star, I am a tad limited with my computer skills maybe just as well or there would be no time to create. Although I am fast falling in love with photography, all of Ayla and bears of course!!!. Materials All my bears and friends are 100% creatively and originally designed by me, Lynne, I have a catalogue of over 30 designs including bunnies ,cats racoons and fairy bears, I tend to use mohair mostly although I love the delicious colours available in miniature bear fabrics which is mostly used for my anime designs. I use black glass or boot button eyes and all my bears are cotter pin jointed, with the occasional wobble neck joint for extra character. My bears are filled with heavy polyester fibre and steel shot for a little weight. Noses can be embroidered or needle felted but more recently I have started to sculpt them using sculpey clay and finished with a light buff and shiny gloss. Each creation is hand sewn with a double stitch. All bears come to you boxed with sewn in artist’s label and name tag. Collector’s bears are intended for the grown up child and are not suitable for young children although a supervised snuggle is allowed. Creative Techniques There are many different techniques I apply when making my bears, I love face and tummy inserts giving each bear a stunning contrast in colour, again recently I have started to add highlights to the eyes using white ultra suede and also use subtle shadings to enhance features. Needle felting has become a favourite, although time consuming, the results are wonderful and give a whole new dimension to my creations. I am constantly practising new ideas and creative techniques to ensure my catalogue of work is diverse and offers each collector something original from the Buttercup and Curtzy Grace Ranges. Payment & Postage I accept personal cheque, postal order and Paypal. Paypal only for International collectors. If posting your payment please email me and I will forward my payment address. All bears are sent upon cleared payment. I offer free fully insured postage, Special Delivery and International signed for; each bear is boxed and securely packaged. With Thanks A family gal indeed, I must mention a few people. Lynne x |
